Orthopedic Casting Tape for Ankle Joint, Fractured Bone External Immobilization 




The orthopedic casting tape is made of special fiber coated with non-toxic and side-effect-free glue. It adopts a porous network structure, has good plasticity, and is light and breathable. Bandage products are mainly intended for three-point fixation of joints, which differs from the defect that splint products are easy to fall off.

The bandage can cover joint parts more comprehensively and shape stably. Compared with the traditional gypsum fixation, it is characteristic of high strength & lightweight, and free of problems such as sudden fragmentation that may occur in the traditional gypsum.

Orthopedic casting tape also has the disadvantages of traditional gypsum bandages. Bandage products can only be removed by a special medical gypsum saw, and cannot be reshaped again. Once the patient has postoperative swelling or detumescence, it is required to be removed and re-fixed.


[USAGE]

1. The doctor should wear medical gloves and select the appropriate size according to different affected parts;
2. Open the package, fully soak the product in normal temperature water for 5-10 seconds, squeeze it for 2-3 times, take out the product and squeeze out the excess water;
3. The cotton bushing is applied to the affected part, and the product is wrapped around the affected part in a spiral shape. When the bandage is wound, it shall ensure that the layers are tightly combined. It is preferable that the overlying width of each layer is between 1/2 and 2/3. The number of winding layers is determined according to the affected part, with 3-4 layers for non-load-bearing parts and 5-6 layers for load-bearing parts.
4. The operation time shall be controlled within 3-5 minutes because the extended operation time will affect the shaping; once the operation is done, let it stay for 20 minutes to bear the load.
5. Removal will be made by a doctor using a medical electric plaster saw.
